Baseball Recap: Saratoga Comes Up Short

Saratoga had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 4-11 to make it four. They came up short against the Prospect Panthers, falling 13-3. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Aiden Chen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double. Max Dubin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Prospect, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

On Prospect's side, Kyle Pollace and Kevin-Joseph Rieden did most of the damage at the plate: Pollace went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two doubles, while Rieden went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Pollace a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saratoga will challenge MacDonald at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prospect, they will take on Evergreen Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
