Basketball Recap: Pershing County Gets the Win

Yerington came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Pershing County, but Travis Donaldson wouldn't allow it. The Pershing County Mustangs walked away with a 63-50 victory over the Yerington Lions on Tuesday thanks in part to Donaldson, who posted 27 points along with six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Denzel Zaldivar was another key player, putting up ten points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Yerington still got an impressive performance from Colby Rowe, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 21 points and four steals. That was a full 42% of Yerington's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kenneth Picotte also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Pershing County's record now sits at 10-13. As for Yerington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Pershing County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-28 win against Wells on the 29th. Yerington has also already played their next contest, a 62-53 defeat against North Tahoe on the 1st.
