If Forsyth Central wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played West Forsyth, they should've done a better job of containing Adeline Wieler. The Wolverines came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1 last Thursday for which the team can thank Wieler, who had 26 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.
West Forsyth had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-11, 25-12, 25-23.
West Forsyth relied on the efforts of Macey Chupp, who had seven digs and two aces, and Olivia Heck, who had 11 assists. That's the most assists Heck has posted since back in August.
They weren't the only good servers: West Forsyth was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They are 7-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Westminster waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Blue Devils.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-21.
West Forsyth better keep an eye on Sophia Bonadies. She was instrumental in Westminster's win, getting five aces and four digs.
The victory got West Forsyth back to even at 16-16. As for Westminster, their win bumped their record up to 31-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: West Forsyth has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Westminster struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
West Forsyth came up short against Westminster in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
