Muscle Shoals waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 54-47 victory over the Athens Golden Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 65-49 two weeks ago.

Muscle Shoals' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Athens, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season.

Muscle Shoals and Athens should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Muscle Shoals (ranked 40th) will meet Arab (ranked 159th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Athens will face off against St. John Paul II at 1:30 p.m. on Monday up 369 places (52 vs. 421).
