Basketball Game Preview: Kalkaska Blazers vs. Charlevoix Rayders

Kalkaska hasn't had much luck against Charlevoix recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Kalkaska Blazers will square off against the Charlevoix Rayders at 7:00 p.m.

Kalkaska is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They fell 48-36 to Boyne City. While losing is never fun, the Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Ramblers are ranked 248th).

Meanwhile, Charlevoix came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Stags with points to spare, taking the game 50-36.

Charlevoix's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Kalkaska, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Kalkaska might still be hurting after the 59-39 loss they got from Charlevoix in their previous matchup back in January. Can Kalkaska avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
