The Bastrop Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Anderson Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Bastrop's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
Bastrop's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Crockett with a sharp 10-0 win. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Not much got past Ella Griesenbeck, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Crockett off the board. With that strong performance, Griesenbeck is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Bastrop let Madison Perez and Lanie Coy run wild. Perez scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Coy went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jessa Clay, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Bastrop was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anderson). They blew past Richards School for Young Women Leaders 29-0 on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Trojans with their most commanding win of the season.
The team relied heavily on Lauren Montalvo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and three doubles. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Kylie Grahmann was another key player, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Bastrop has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. Anderson's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bastrop hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .438. However, it's not like Anderson struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bastrop was able to grind out a solid win over Anderson when the teams last played back in April of 2022, winning 11-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bastrop since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
