Preview: Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Cyclones vs. Florida Christian Patriots
The Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Cyclones's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Florida Christian Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 30-29 win over Ferguson. Florida Christian had a senior duo take command as Natalia Stocker scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and Zoe Campos scored 16 points along with seven assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stocker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Perez, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Florida Christian, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.
Wednesday's contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Florida Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
