Southwest came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Jay Mustangs get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Dragons have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sienna Diaz looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Marissa Rivas was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Meah Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Southwest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jay only posted an OBP of .083.

Southwest pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Jay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Southwest will head out to challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jay, they will look to defend their home field on April 2 against Southside at 7:00 p.m. Jay's pitchers better be ready for this one: Southside has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
