Softball Preview: Bravo Knights vs. Franklin Panthers
The Bravo Knights will square off against the Franklin Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Bravo's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Franklin has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Bravo had been on a six-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Marshall put an end to it on Friday. The Knights took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barristers. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Franklin and Lincoln meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Tigers, falling 15-6.
Franklin got a massive performance out of Candace Macias, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brenda Chavez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Bravo, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
Bravo skirted past Franklin 10-9 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
