A feisty cat fight will be fought as Abbeville Wildcats duke it out with Delcambre Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Abbeville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.

Abbeville easily dispatched V.B. Glencoe Charter on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Abbeville fell just short of Comeaux by a score of 5-3 on Monday.

Ryan Thibodeaux made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Delcambre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Iberia. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly three runs.

Delcambre saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andre' Venable, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Abbeville's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Delcambre, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Abbeville might still be hurting after the 21-1 defeat they got from Delcambre in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Abbeville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
