Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Norfolk Academy's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Norfolk Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Catholic Crusaders by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

When it comes to explaining why Norfolk Academy lost, don't look at Allie Wight. Despite the final result, she had 21 assists and eight digs. Wight is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Catholic found their leader in sophomore Katie Winchester, who had 17 digs and three aces.

Norfolk Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 20-3. As for Catholic, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Norfolk Academy will square off against Flint Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Catholic, they will face off against Collegiate at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
