Basketball Recap: Casey-Westfield Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Casey-Westfield hadn't beaten Robinson on the road since January 26, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 55-33 margin over the Maroons. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Maroons are ranked 459th).

Robinson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaac Hardiman, who shot 42% from the field en route to 16 points, and Andrew Sparks, who posted eight points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Sparks now owns an excellent 47.4% shooting accuracy.

Casey-Westfield pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 50.7 points this season. As for Robinson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Casey-Westfield will be home for the holidays to greet Neoga at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Robinson, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-52 loss against Evansville Christian on the 13th.
