Basketball Recap: Winslow Bulldogs vs. Chino Valley Cougars
Winslow had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 62-15 victory over the Chino Valley Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bulldogs have posted since November 15, 2023.
Winslow got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylin Puhuhefvaya out in front who scored six points in addition to nine steals. What's more, Puhuhefvaya also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Kaitlyn Belone was another key player, posting 14 points along with three steals.
Winslow wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-38 defeat against Monument Valley on the 22nd. As for Chino Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Highland Prep at 5:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
