Football Recap: Checotah Wildcats vs. Eufaula Ironheads
Checotah pushed their score to 54 the last time they played Eufaula, but on Friday they couldn't quite do it again. The Checotah Wildcats managed a 13-7 win over the Eufaula Ironheads. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Elijah Thomas was his usual excellent self, rushing for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Checotah's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Eufaula, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Checotah is taking a road trip to take on Cascia Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cascia Hall knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Checotah likes a good challenge. Eufaula does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
