Softball Recap: Jacobs Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Jacobs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the Hononegah Indians 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Skylee Ferrante spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, Jacobs let Kendall Davignon and Audrey Wetzel run wild. Davignon went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Wetzel went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That home run was Davignon's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Hoch, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

The victory got Jacobs back to even at 9-9. As for Hononegah, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.

Jacobs has already played their next contest (against Bolingbrook), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hononegah also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against McHenry.
