Marquasia Warren was her usual excellent self, going 8 of 19 on her way to 26 points along with seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Baggett, who posted 13 points.
Nash Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Rocky Mount over Southern Nash in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Rocky Mount blew Southern Nash out of the water with a 62-20 final score. The Gryphons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.
Rocky Mount's win came from a few key players Nash Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kira Jones, who went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points. Her evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keysha Mizzell, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 15 points.
Nash Central pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Rocky Mount, their record is now 12-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Nash Central has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rocky Mount struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
