Baseball Recap: Middle Park Comes Up Short

Middle Park came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Alameda Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 6-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Middle Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunnar Bjerken, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Middle Park's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Alameda, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle Park will challenge Platte Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Alameda, they will face off against Fort Morgan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
