Softball Recap: Archbishop Spalding Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Archbishop Spalding won against Mercy on Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Cavaliers walked away with a 12-7 victory over the McDonogh Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Olivia Rowley was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Codi, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Archbishop Spalding's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for McDonogh, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Archbishop Spalding does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McDonogh, they will challenge South Carroll at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
