Basketball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by the Bay City Blackcats and fell 62-29. The defeat continues a trend for the Sandcrabs in their matchups with the Blackcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Leading Bay City to victory were Javius Andrews and Alex Estrada. Andrews went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points, while Estrada went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points. The game was Andrews' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Ellis, who posted nine points.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Bay City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-30 defeat against Van Vleck on the 14th. Bay City and Sweeny will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bay City is facing Sweeny at the right time seeing as Sweeny is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
