Softball Game Preview: Master's Academy Patriots vs. Oasis Christian Lions

The Master's Academy Patriots will square off against the Oasis Christian Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Master's Academy will be strutting in after a win while Oasis Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, everything went Master's Academy's way against Boca Raton Christian as Master's Academy made off with an 18-2 victory.

Nola Matz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Master's Academy got a big performance out of Alison Viersma, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, Viersma posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Katherine Ryer was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Master's Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boca Raton Christian only posted an OBP of .357.

Meanwhile, Oasis Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to First Academy.

Oasis Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kilee Carpenter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Master's Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Oasis Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
