Softball Preview: West Ranch Wildcats vs. Hart Hawks
West Ranch is 2-8 against Hart since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Tuesday, West Ranch made easy work of Chavez and carried off a 13-5 victory.
Hart not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 15-4). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Castaic a 10-0 shutout. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Sadie Curtis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Delgado, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Hart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
West Ranch's record is now 9-14. As for Hart, their record now sits at 8-15.
West Ranch took their victory against Hart when the teams last played on April 1st by a conclusive 13-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
