Baseball Recap: McArthur Comes Up Short

McArthur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to the Fort Lauderdale Flying L. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flying L's apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Eliecer Rodriguez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, McArthur saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Miracolla, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

McArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Fort Lauderdale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7-1.

Coming up, McArthur will take on Dade Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Lauderdale, they will challenge Cypress Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Lauderdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
