Lejeune is 1-9 against North Duplin since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lejeune Devil Pups will venture away from home to challenge the North Duplin Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Lejeune has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Lejeune will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Richlands, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Lejeune snuck past Richlands with a 35-31 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Devil Pups as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Lejeune found their leader in sophomore Madison McQueen, who earned 20 points along with five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which McQueen has scored at least a third of Lejeune's points. Jane Gwinn was another key player, posting eight points in addition to five rebounds.

Meanwhile, a win for North Duplin just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They took a blow against East Duplin, falling 60-31. The loss was the Rebels' first of the season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tateyawna Faison, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Faison is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Addy Higginbotham, who earned seven points along with four steals.

North Duplin's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Lejeune, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Lejeune was dealt a bruising 64-29 defeat at the hands of North Duplin in their previous meeting on Tuesday. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lejeune was down 38-17.
