Recap: Crockett Bulldogs vs. Shepherd Pirates
The Crockett Bulldogs won against the Shepherd Pirates last Friday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Crockett came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 57-45. Given Crockett's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while the Pirates are ranked 1135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Naomi Taylor was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 24 rebounds, and 11 blocks. Taylor is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. Tania Davis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.
Crockett is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Shepherd, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Crockett will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Onalaska is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Bulldogs a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Shepherd does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
