Basketball Recap: Paden City Comes Up Short

Paden City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt an 80-31 loss at the hands of the Wood County Christian Wildcat. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 853rd, while the Wildcat are ranked 94th).

Paden City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Wood County Christian, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Paden City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-26 loss against Gilmer County on the 1st. As for Wood County Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
