Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Lutheran Falcons vs. North Tahoe Lakers

The Sierra Lutheran Falcons will take on the North Tahoe Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Sierra Lutheran has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while North Tahoe will arrive with five straight wins.

Sierra Lutheran is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Battle Mountain on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sierra Lutheran lost 36-12 to Battle Mountain. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Longhorns are ranked 33rd).

Bella Ruiz was Sierra Lutheran's leading scorer, having posted six points. Ruiz also led the team in assists with two.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday North Tahoe sidestepped Pershing County for a 40-37 victory.

Sierra Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for North Tahoe, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.
