Baseball Preview: Tomah Timberwolves vs. DeForest Norskies
The Tomah Timberwolves will venture away from home to challenge the DeForest Norskies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Tomah and four for DeForest.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Tomah's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waunakee on Thursday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Timberwolves haven't been shut out since back in April.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither DeForest nor Madison West made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Norskies fell 8-3 to the Regents.
DeForest got a good showing from Joseph Hall, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, Hall gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April.
At the plate, Tru Killerlain was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carter Meyers, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
DeForest now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Tomah, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
