Basketball Preview: Parkview Vikings vs. West Plains Zizzers

Parkview is 0-10 against the Zizzers since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Parkview Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the West Plains Zizzers at 7:30 p.m. Parkview is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Parkview fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Bulldogs on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brooklynn Haines, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Brooklynn Masten was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, West Plains' good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 58-35 defeat at the hands of Kickapoo. While losing is never fun, West Plains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Chiefs are ranked fifth).

Parkview's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for West Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

Parkview took a serious blow against the Zizzers in their previous matchup back in January, falling 74-17. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Parkview was down 43-9.
