Polytechnic had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Rio Hondo Prep Kares by a score of 3-1. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Kares, too.

Polytechnic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-20.

Polytechnic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Polytechnic and Rio Hondo Prep should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Polytechnic (ranked 191st) will meet EF Academy (ranked 697th) at 6:30 p.m. on April 8th. Meanwhile, Rio Hondo Prep will challenge Calvary Baptist at 3:30 p.m. on Friday up 528 places (332 vs. 860).
