Seward is 8-2 against Ashland-Greenwood since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Seward will face off against Ashland-Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Seward saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to Aurora. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Seward was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20.

Seward's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Faith Hibbert, who had four digs and two aces, and Rilynn Hiser, who had five digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Ashland-Greenwood didn't have quite enough to beat Platteview on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Bluejays have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Ashland-Greenwood wouldn't go down easily and took Platteview into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 17-15.

Seward's loss dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 20-7.

Seward beat Ashland-Greenwood 3-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seward since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
