Athens is 9-1 against River Valley since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will take on the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Athens will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask River Valley). They walked away with an 11-7 victory over Federal Hocking on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won four in a row.

Athens pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for River Valley, their record now sits at 4-5.

Athens couldn't quite finish off River Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
