Pioneer got themselves on the board against Wood on Friday, but Wood never followed suit. They won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 1-0. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Jia Beebe, who gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Wood off the board. Beebe has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Pioneer's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Wood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pioneer will host Vintage at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 1.9, the Crushers 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Wood, they will welcome Vacaville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
