Basketball Preview: Dawson Springs Panthers vs. Caldwell County Tigers

Dawson Springs is 1-9 against the Tigers since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dawson Springs Panthers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Caldwell County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Dawson Springs ended up a good deal behind the Maroons and lost 73-59.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Montgomery Johnston, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaybird Plunkette, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Caldwell County earned a 56-43 victory over the Rockets on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Caldwell County.

Dawson Springs' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9. As for Caldwell County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Dawson Springs ended up a good deal behind the Tigers in their previous matchup back in January, losing 65-49. Can Dawson Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
