Baseball Recap: Tamalpais Wins Going Away Against San Rafael

Tamalpais barely beat San Rafael the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks put the hurt on the San Rafael Bulldogs with a sharp 8-1 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Red Tailed Hawks have won three games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Van Til looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Henry Stoll was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tito Fierstein, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Tamalpais and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for San Rafael, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

Tamalpais will have a chance to go back-to-back against San Rafael: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
