Recap: Bishop Ireton Cardinals vs. Elizabeth Seton
The Bishop Ireton Cardinals are ranked highly in their home state, and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Elizabeth Seton. Bishop Ireton walked away with a 71-60 victory over Elizabeth Seton. The win was familiar territory for Bishop Ireton who now have four in a row.
It was another big night for Nyla Brooks, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Desirae Ashton, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Bishop Ireton's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Elizabeth Seton, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-6.
Bishop Ireton will be playing at home against Our Lady of Good Counsel at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Ireton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 286 points over their last four matches. As for Elizabeth Seton, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop McNamara at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop McNamara will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Elizabeth Seton surely won't give up without a fight.
