Basketball Recap: St. Bede Takes a Loss

St. Bede and Marquette squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but St. Bede had to settle for second. They fell to the Marquette Crusaders 50-45. While the Bruins didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Crusaders 17-10 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, St. Bede still got an impressive performance from Savannah Bray, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, Bray is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Ehm, who posted eight points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, St. Bede smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

St. Bede's record is now 20-13. As for Marquette, they pushed their record up to 21-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

St. Bede does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marquette, they will head out to square off against Amboy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Amboy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
