Basketball Recap: Charles City Takes a Loss

Charles City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Mathews Blue Devils, falling 71-27. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Charles City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mathews, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charles City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cumberland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mathews, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Colonial Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mathews knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Colonial Beach likes a good challenge.
