Baseball Recap: Beaver Local Comes Up Short

If Beaver Local was riding high fresh off their 8-1 takedown of East Liverpool last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Beavers came up short against the Bellaire Big Reds on Wednesday, falling 10-1. The Beavers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Big Reds from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Beaver Local saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paxton Grimes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Beaver Local has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Bellaire, they moved to 6-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaver Local will host Columbiana at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Beavers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Clippers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Bellaire, they will face off against Bridgeport at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Big Reds surely won't give up without a fight.
