Basketball Game Preview: Newkirk Tigers vs. Alva Goldbugs

Newkirk is 1-9 against Alva since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Newkirk Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Alva Goldbugs at 8:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Newkirk was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 39-33 to Perry.

Meanwhile, Alva made easy work of Chisholm on Tuesday and carried off a 64-42 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Goldbugs have posted against the Longhorns since November 30, 2021.

Newkirk's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Alva, they now have a winning record of 1-0.

Newkirk took a serious blow against Alva in their previous meeting back in February, falling 96-57. Can Newkirk avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
