Basketball Game Preview: Coventry Comets vs. Lake Blue Streaks

The Coventry Comets will square off against the Lake Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Coventry was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-50 to Norton. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Comets came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Panthers are ranked 531st).

Meanwhile, Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 39-28 to GlenOak.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coventry was dealt a bruising 68-32 defeat at the hands of Lake when the teams last played back in December of 2020. Thankfully for Coventry, Jj Vaughan (who went 9 for 17 on his way to 24 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
