Football Recap: Manheim Central Barons vs. Ephrata Mountaineers

Manheim Central was the 79-7 winner over Ephrata when they last played one another back in October of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Manheim Central Barons lost to the Ephrata Mountaineers on the road by a 31-14 margin on Friday. Despite 59 more yards than the Mountaineers, the Barons couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Although Manheim Central took the loss, they still got scores from Asher Cook and Brodie Daugherty.

Ephrata can attribute much of their success to Brayden Brown, who rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns. Brown also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble, making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending a pass which he returned for a touchdown.

Manheim Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ephrata, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Manheim Central is taking a road trip to face off against Dallastown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ephrata, they will square off against Garden Spot at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
