Basketball Game Preview: Kettering Captains vs. Walled Lake Northern Knights

Kettering is 2-8 against Walled Lake Northern since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kettering Captains will host the Walled Lake Northern Knights at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Kettering is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against South Lyon on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Kettering took a blow against South Lyon, falling 57-26. While losing is never fun, the Captains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Lions are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Walled Lake Northern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 55-46 to Mercy.

Kettering's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Walled Lake Northern, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-7.

Kettering took a serious blow against Walled Lake Northern in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 40-9. Can Kettering avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
