Baseball Recap: Fulshear Comes Up Short

Fulshear lost against George Ranch last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chargers fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 5-3. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caden Hoff was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mason Schultz, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

Fulshear's loss dropped their record down to 17-8-1. As for George Ranch, the win got them back to even at 12-12-1.

Fulshear and George Ranch should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Chargers will face off against Huntsville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (174 vs. 386). Meanwhile, George Ranch (ranked 360th) will meet Alief Taylor (ranked 1204th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (the Longhorns have four straight victories, the Lions have four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
