Basketball Game Preview: Newport Cubs vs. Cascade Cougars

Newport hasn't had much luck against Cascade recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Newport Cubs will venture away from home to challenge the Cascade Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Newport will be strutting in after a win while Cascade will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Newport didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against North Marion, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory.

Meanwhile, Cascade took a blow against Stayton on Tuesday, falling 59-29. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Newport's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Cascade, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

Newport took a serious blow against Cascade in their previous meeting back in January, falling 69-30. Can Newport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
