Valor Christian faced Douglas County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 3-1. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

The win didn't come easy: Douglas County scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-27, 25-23.

Reed Fisk paced Valor Christian's offense, picking up 18 kills. Fisk got some help from Darren Wright and his 43 assists. Justin Barwind and Lincoln Jessen kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Valor Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Douglas County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-5.

Valor Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Douglas County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Highlands Ranch on the 29th.
