Softball Recap: Maple Shade Beats Burlington City for Their Third Straight Win

Maple Shade waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Burlington City Blue Devils. Considering the Wildcats have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Haylee Gaidecksi, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Melayna Bowman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Maple Shade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Maple Shade's record is now 7-3. As for Burlington City, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maple Shade will venture away from home to square off against Palmyra at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Burlington City, they will head out to face off against Doane Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burlington City will need to watch out since Doane Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
