Baseball Recap: South Beloit Comes Up Short

South Beloit lost against River Ridge/Scales Mound back in April of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sobos fell 11-6 to the Wildcats.

Cesar Alfaro was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zane Hagstrom, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

South Beloit's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Coincidentally, South Beloit and River Ridge/Scales Mound will both be playing Indian Creek the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Timberwolves at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Sobos will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
