Thales Academy Apex had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.8 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They walked away with a 44-31 win over the St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Chancellors are ranked 384th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dehring has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Winnie Dehring was another key player, putting up ten points.

Thales Academy Apex's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for St. Thomas More Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
