Volleyball Preview: Century Centurions vs. Trico Pioneers

The Century Centurions will take on the Trico Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Century is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Hardin County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Centurions.

Century found their leader in sophomore Jaicey Edwards, who had 15 digs.

If Zeigler-Royalton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Trico, they should've done a better job of containing Greta Jones. The Pioneers came out on top against the Tornadoes by a score of 2-0 on Friday for which the team can thank Jones, who had 21 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 20 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Trico was: they took both sets by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-11.

Century's victory bumped their record up to 14-17. As for Trico, their win bumped their record up to 29-6.
