Softball Game Preview: Green Bobcats vs. South Webster Jeeps

Green is 0-5 against South Webster since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will look to defend their home field against the Jeeps at 5:00 p.m. Green will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Eastern hit Green with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bobcats fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7.

Emma Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Aliya Bradley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Webster, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Minford with a sharp 16-2 win on Monday. The Jeeps might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Kerija Sauliete was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee House, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

South Webster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

South Webster's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8. As for Green, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
